Each year the Minnesota Chiefs of Police Association awards up to ten $750 scholarships to law enforcement students. The application process for 2012 will become available after March 1, 2012.
The Minnesota Chiefs of Police Association (MCPA) recognizes the need for financial assistance available to students searching for a career in law enforcement.
The ability of a peace officer to render effective service responsive to the public's need depends heavily upon job knowledge and skills. The Minnesota Chiefs of Police Association recognizes the importance of pre-entry training to the accomplishment of these prerequisites. It also recognizes that some candidates need outside help in meeting the costs of such training. MCPA is prepared to offer financial assistance as funds will allow.
Applications are accepted through July 15 each year. Scholarships are awarded mid-August.
