Why are you applying for a Board of Directors' position?:
I am applying to the Minnesota Chiefs of Police Association Board of Directors for the opportunity to serve the association and membership that have helped support me throughout my career. I am passionate about the association and the service it offers to our members. I support the active role our association has taken in advancing our profession through training and legislative activism. I look forward to helping the association continue to grow by providing support to our staff and feedback from the membership. I hope to bring a unique perspective to the board with my experience from both outstate and metro area agencies.

If elected, what would be your priority for the Association?:
My priorities for the association are to continue to engage our membership and ensure that all members are fairly represented regardless of agency size or location. I plan to help ensure that our association maintains its strong leadership and a respected voice among legislators. I believe our association must continue to engage our membership through regular communication across multiple platforms.

Describe your involvement with the MCPA or other professional law enforcement associations.:
I believe in the continuous improvement of our organization and our profession. During my time with the Minnesota Chiefs of Police Association I have served on the Communications Committee, the CLEO Certification Committee and as an instructor for the MCPA in our Officer Leadership Program. I have also been involved in the MCPA’s last two strategic planning sessions. I currently serve as the President of the Hennepin County Chiefs of Police Association.

Bachelors Degree in Law Enforcement from Minnesota State University, Mankato Masters Degree in Public Administration from Hamline University Minnesota Chiefs CLEO and Command Academy Graduate BCA Supervision and Management Certificate President of the Hennepin County Chiefs of Police Association Instructor for MCPA Officer Leadership Program.

The election for MCPA's 2018-19 Board of Directors will take place at ETI on Tuesday, April 24th at 9:00 a.m. in the Lake Superior Ballroom immediately following the presentation on Fair and Impartial Policing.
