MCPA Training Center in New Brighton

Course Schedule

The Minnesota Chiefs of Police Association has broadened its leadership training offerings to civilian city leaders.  This training, held on March 8th, will provide city managers, administrators and elected city council members a better understanding of police departments and their 21st Century challenges.

The six-hour session will cover the management and coordination of use of deadly force incidents, prudent investments in public safety technology, including body-worn cameras, effective recruiting of quality police chief candidates, smart, strategic decision making around police training and the alignment of a police department’s culture with its community’s expectations.  While the content will be geared toward city leaders, chiefs are encouraged to attend to assist in building a common community law enforcement vision using a global view of where a police department fits into the overall city structure.
