MCPA Academy Partnerships

The MCPA Academy Sponsorship is a perfect avenue for private sector partners to enhance an existing marketing plan, explain a new initiative and build brand awareness.

The Minnesota Chiefs of Police Association hosts two sets of training academies annually. Leadership Academy helps first-line law enforcement supervisors prepare for their new duties, CLEO and Command helps police chiefs and commanders make the transition to the executive position.

The week-long academies are offered multiple times a year attracting approximately 25-30 police leaders each. More than a dozen additional Minnesota police chiefs and public safety professionals teach the academy courses on topics such as critical incident management, organizational policy development, implementing new technology, and human resources and development.

Academy partner Adam Backstrom explains benefits his company, Bio-Tec, gains from this opportunity:

Here are a few benefits to the partnership:

  • In-person, face-to-face interaction with law enforcement leaders in class as well as during lunch and the networking event on the 1st day of the academy. This includes 15 minutes to present about your company or products. (NOTE: MCPA will make a verbal disclaimer that the association is not endorsing vendor’s products)
  • Vendor banner located in lunchroom and facility where networking event is held
  • Vendor logo on MCPA homepage for 30 days during month of academy
  • MCPA will give verbal recognition from podium during General session of MCPA’s ETI Annual Conference (attended by approximately 300-350 law local and state law enforcement leaders)
  • Recognition on Academy website page that is sent out to all attendees prior to training. The page includes course materials, instructor bios and logistical information.
