The MCPA Leadership Academy

Register for one of three trainings in 2024 aimed at first-line supervisors.

The MCPA's Leadership Academy typically accommodates 30-40 attendees per session. It is a 3-1/2-day course for middle management/first-line supervisors in law enforcement.

Participants will develop skills on how to make a distinct transition from street officer to supervisor.

The classes are designed with an understanding that effective supervision is critical to making a successful law enforcement agency.

Upcoming Leadership Academy Dates (click each link to register)

Due to high demand of an extra in-person Leadership Academy at Camp Ripley, the Zoom session has been phased out in lieu of a second Camp Ripley option.

The Leadership Academy runs Tuesday through Friday and covers key topics, including complaint sorting and discipline, performance appraisals, general leadership principles and media relations musts for every police department.

Class Curriculum: The training Academy is taught by seasoned Minnesota instructors with a wealth of experience in police leadership.
