Minnesota POST Board releases new training objectives

The objectives are based off of a landmark police training bill passed by the Minnesota legislature during the 2017 session.  Law enforcement groups, including MCPA, worked with community leaders and legislators to update how police are trained and how the costs are covered.

 

Lawmakers consider wide range of public safety issues during session

From distracted driving to human trafficking, Minnesota state legislators will consider a wide range of public safety issues when they return to work at the State Capitol in St. Paul.  The legislative session officially begins at noon on Tuesday February 20th.

 

ChiefsCast: Law Enforcement Solutions to the Mental Health Crisis

Nearly 100 police chiefs and law enforcement leaders from across Minnesota explored new programs to help officers train and better prepare for interactions with mentally ill people.  Police report a steady rise in the number of calls for service where people are in a state of emotional crisis.
