Executive Director

Jeff Potts was appointed as MCPA's Executive Director in 2021, following a 29-year career in law enforcement. He also serves as the Executive Director of the Minnesota Chiefs of Police Foundation.

The final 12 years of Jeff's policing career were spent as the police chief of the City of Bloomington, Minnesota. Jeff holds a master's degree in police administration from the University of St. Thomas and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy in Virginia. He is a past president of the MCPA and former legislative committee co-chair for the association.

Communications Director

Luke Cardona manages the communication needs for MCPA, including member communications, website, social media, and press. He is an experienced marketing and communications professional, having worked with agencies, startups, non-profits, and local government. Luke has led communications for the cities of Fridley and Arden Hills, including messaging and branding for Fridley's public safety department. Originally from Albert Lea, he earned his bachelor's degree in journalism & mass communications from South Dakota State University.

Operations and Finance Manager

Acacia Huss-Zirzow serves as the Operations and Finance Manager for the Minnesota Chiefs of Police Association, helping oversee the organization’s day-to-day operations. Her work focuses on coordinating trainings and events, managing membership systems, and providing financial oversight and support. She began her career in the mortgage industry after earning a B.S. in Business Administration from Metropolitan State University. Most recently, she has applied her skills in the nonprofit sector, gaining valuable experience as a Loan and Grant Program Specialist and Development Coordinator.
