MCPA Fall Conference November 18–20, 2025

Thank you to everyone who participated in the recent Fall Conference survey. Based on your feedback, MCPA will host a Fall Conference this year at Cragun’s Resort near Brainerd, MN. It is scheduled for November 18–20, 2025.

This will be a shorter event than our Spring ETI conference. We anticipate the Fall Conference will begin around 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 18, and conclude by noon on Thursday, November 20. The conference will feature in-person sessions similar to our past Critical Issues series, which was held virtually in the Fall.

Planning is currently underway, and we’ll be sharing more details on the schedule and pricing soon.

Our goal for this new fall conference is to provide timely, high-quality training on current trends, recent case law, and other important topics impacting law enforcement across Minnesota. While we will continue to host our Spring conference each April, adding a shorter Fall event will allow us to connect with members more frequently and address emerging issues in real-time. This model is consistent with what many other state Chiefs of Police Associations are doing.

We look forward to seeing you in November. Stay tuned for registration details and a full agenda.

Have a great weekend.

Federal Grant Opportunity to Support Agency Accreditation

MNLEAP would like to highlight a federal grant opportunity through the U.S. DOJ COPS Office that can provide financial assistance to agencies pursuing accreditation.

The FY25 Community Policing Development (CPD) Accreditation Program is designed to help law enforcement agencies implement effective practices, improve outcomes, and promote safer communities. Grant funds may be used to support agencies in completing the accreditation process, as well as to assist national and state accreditation bodies.

Accreditation ensures agency policies and procedures meet the highest professional standards. Communities benefit from knowing their law enforcement agencies are committed to accountability, transparency, and best practices in policing.
